The New Hong Kong Icon

Colors of Asia (artist Francesco Lietti and architects Martin Riese and Marcin Klocek) recently won the Design Competition 1+1 for the expansion of the Hong Kong Science Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of History.

This open-entry architectural competition to help redesigning the facade of the existing museum received more than 60 applications. Our winning scheme was inspired by a vibrant Hong Kong cityscape painted by Francesco Lietti.

Colors of Asia will liaise and collaborate with star Architect Farrells, an architecture and urban design firm founded by British architect Sir Terry Farrell, with offices in London, Manchester, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Farrells team, lead by Stefan Krummeck, are in charge of revamping and redeveloping the large museum, which occupies and entire city block in the East Tsim Sha Tsui area.
